On Friday, Aug. 12, Cardinal Seán O’Malley of Boston will celebrate the Daily Mass at the CatholicTV Network’s Chapel of the Holy Cross in Watertown.
During the Mass, Cardinal O’Malley will bless the pontifical insignia (the ring, crozier, and miter) for Bishops-elect Robert Reed, President of CatholicTV, and Mark O’Connell. In addition, the bishops-elect will make the Profession of Faith and Oath of Fidelity. Bishops-elect Reed and O’Connell were named Auxiliary Bishops of Boston in June.
Cardinal O’Malley will celebrate the special Aug. 12 Mass in preparation for the Mass of Ordination for the bishops-elect to be held on Aug. 24. The Mass of Ordination will be celebrated at Boston’s Cathedral of the Holy Cross and will be broadcast live on CatholicTV beginning at 1:30 p.m. Details about the Ordination are available at Ordination2016.com.
The Aug. 12 Mass will be broadcast live on CatholicTV at 9:30 a.m. and will also be streaming live atCatholicTVLIVE.com and via Roku and Apple TV. The Mass will be rebroadcast at 7 p.m. and 11:30 p.m. and will be available for streaming on-demand at CatholicTV.com.
