The following information was provided by the Watertown Police Department.
Arrests
May 17, 6:25 a.m.: Police responded to the report of a woman passed out in a driveway and appeared to be disheveled. When police arrived, they spoke to the woman. After the investigation they discovered a small white bag with a white powder inside, which police believe is cocaine. The 23-year-old Watertown woman was arrested on a charge of possession of a Class B drug.
May 21, 2:25 a.m.: Several people reported an accident on Main Street near Olcott Street. Police found a man trying to change a tire on his vehicle, which had heavy and fresh damage on the right side. The man said he did not know how he got the flat. Police found a parked vehicle farther back on Main Street had fresh damage on its left side. When officers spoke to the driver they noticed an odor of alcohol on his breath. Field sobriety tests were performed and the 22-year-old Waltham man was arrested on charges of driving under the influence of alcohol and marked lanes violation.
Incidents
May 16, 7:20 a.m.: A construction vehicle parked on Hovey Street had a window broken sometime overnight.
May 16, 3:15 p.m.: An Irving Street resident’s vehicle was broken into and a laptop was taken. It had been left unlocked.
May 18, 12:20 p.m.: Target security spotted a man take a Fitbit and concealed it under his shirt and he left the store. He got on his bike and rode over to the Arsenal Mall. He was seen putting the Fitbit under some clothing. The Fitbit was recovered and returned to Target, the 42-year-old man from Waltham was summonsed to Waltham District Court for shoplifting.
May 21, 3 p.m.: A woman visited the Innovation Space at the Arsenal Project and put her purse under a table. Later she realized it was missing. A few days later she was contacted and was told her purse had been found in a trash can and it had everything but cash an her iPhone inside.
May 21, 7:20 p.m.: A man who had just purchased two iPhones went to Dunkin Donuts and put the bag with the phones inside on the counter. About 20 minutes later he realized he left it on the counter. When he went back the bag was gone. Police are investigating.
May 21, 8 p.m.: A man was seen in Target taking a cell phone case out of its package, and put his old one inside the package. He then switched the case with a second, more expensive case, and resealed the package of the less expensive one using scotch tape he took from Target. He went to try to purchase the cellphone case at the lower price. The 37-year-old Cambridge man was arrested on a charge of shoplifting by container switching.
