Watertown High School girls basketball coach Pat Ferdinand, who guided the Raiders to the state final this March, will hold a week-long basketball camp at the high school this summer for girls age 8-16.
The ASA-WILDCATS Girls Camp ages 8-16 will be held at Watertown High School from August 1-5, 2016.
ASA provided the following information about the camp:
ASA and Walter McCarty camps are geared for all ages and abilities. All campers are expected to work very hard, be receptive to coaching, exhibit discipline, a strong work ethic, and be serious about basketball. As a staff we pride ourselves in being teaching camp first, campers are expected to learn and exhibit certain skills throughout the week. Scrimmaging and contests will take place throughout the week.
At the end of each week players may have an opportunity to win/earn a trophy. Awards are generally given for the following categories: Free Throw Champion, 1 on 1 Champion, 3 on 3 Champion, & Hot Shot Champions. Coaches may vote to award: Most improved player, Drill Stations Award, Coaches award and a Defensive Stopper award. All players will leave with a detailed evaluation at the conclusion of camp.
Camp Director:
Patrick is currently the Head Varsity Girls Coach at Watertown High School and the new ASA-Mass-WILDCATS girls program director. Prior to his position at Watertown High he coached the Cambridge School of Weston and Regis College. Patrick has a great deal of experience dealing with players of all levels and finds great satisfaction motivating student athletes. His success on the court speaks for itself leading Watertown High to two straight North Finals and was named the Boston Herald 2014-2015 Division 2 coach of the year.
