A car stolen from the lot of the Watertown Mall ended up far away and much worse for wear.
On Sunday, Feb. 14, an employee at the Watertown Mall went out and started a vehicle to warm it up in the very cold weather. The employee then went inside to wait, said Watertown Police Sgt. Thomas Grady.
“The employee came out and the vehicle was gone,” Grady said.
The employee reported the vehicle missing at about 7:51 p.m. About an hour and a half later, Watertown Police received a report that the car had been found.
“It was located in Providence, R.I.,” Grady said. “It has been involved in an a crash and suffered a significant amount of damage.”
No suspect was found when the vehicle was located.
