A Funeral service for Mildred M. “Millie” MacLeod will be celebrated in the MacDonald Rockwell & MacDonald Funeral Home, Watertown on Tuesday, February 2nd, 2016 at 10 a.m.
“Millie” was the daughter of the late Evan B. and Alice E. (McClary) Lund both of Nova Scotia. She passed away in the Watertown Healthcare Center, on Friday afternoon at the age of 89.
Mildred was born and raised in Cambridge. She graduated from Cambridge Rindge & Latin High School class of 1944. In 1946 she married her husband, George, and the two were happily married for 53 years. Millie and George moved to Watertown in 1959 and she has been a resident ever since.
She work diligently at the Perkins School for the Blind for many years, Millie retired from there in 1991.
She was the beloved wife of the late George A. MacLeod. Devoted mother of George A. MacLeod and his wife Elizabeth of Laconia, N.H. and the late Ethlyn I. MacLeod. Loving grandmother of Karyn E. Ramshaw and her husband Greg of Watertown, Scott MacLeod of Laconia, N.H. and the late Tracy
MacLeod. Great grandmother of Caitlyn & Ryan Ramshaw. Dear sister of Ethlyn I. Bleiler of Watertown, Dorothy L. Leslie of Stoughton, Alice Richard of Duxbury, Nancy Lund of Billerica and the late George R. & Frederick Lund. Also loved by many nieces & nephews. She loved to be with her great grandchildren Caitlyn & Ryan.
Visiting hours for Millie will be held on Monday, Feb. 1 from 4 to 7 p.m.
Interment will be at Ridgelawn Cemetery in Watertown.
