Mary Baker
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Tuesday Jan. 19, 2016 in the Church of Saint Patrick, Watertown for Mary (Carreiro) Baker.
Mrs. Baker was a daughter of the late Camillo Alvara and Maria Maricahas (Borges) Carreiro. Mary passed away in her home on Thursday January 14, 2016. She was 97.
Mary grew up in Somerville, graduating with the Class of 1935. Married in 1941 to Theodore “Ted” Sr., she and Ted moved to Watertown in 1950, raising three sons.
Mary was involved with Saint Theresa’s Parish couples club and sodality. She love to golf and square dance. Weekends with the family at the cottage on Lake Shirley. An avid gardener, both inside and outside of her home.
She was the beloved wife of the late Theodore Baker, Sr. Devoted mother of Theodore Baker, Jr. & his wife Janice of Reading, Paul J. Baker & his wife Jane of Northborough and Philip S. Baker of Westford. Loving grandmother of Michelle Valentino, Melissa Gentile, Carolyn Eliet, Theodore Baker III, Suzanne, Kevin & Daniel Baker and 9 great- grandchildren. Sister in-law Dorothy Carreiro of Ithaca, N.Y.
Funeral from the MacDonald, Rockwell & MacDonald Funeral Home at 270 Main St. Watertown on Tuesday January 19, 2016 at 8 a.m., followed by Funeral Mass in the Church of St. Patrick, 212 Main St., Watertown at 9 a.m. Relatives and friends are kindly invited.
Visiting hours will be Monday 3-7 p.m. Interment will be Mt. Auburn Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, memorials in Mary’s memory may be made to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, PO Box 1000, Dept. 142, Memphis, TN 38101-9908.
