Watertown’s Christa Knell scored the game winning goal in the Raiders’ 2-0 win over Weston in the state tournament.
The Watertown High School field hockey team will take on a tough Manchester-Essex team in the Section final on Saturday, a team whose star player is a boy.
On a drizzly Wednesday night, the Raiders (19-0) won 2-0 over Weston (14-4-3) in the MIAA Div. 2 North Section semifinal at Reading Memorial High School.
Christa Knell scored in the first half on a pass from Michaela Antonellis to put Watertown on top. Weston kept the game close until the last minute of the game when Gabby Venezia scored to make it 2-0 Raiders.

Saturday, Watertown will take on Manchester-Essex, a team that has rolled through the playoffs thanks to the help of Robert Carter, a boy playing for the Hornets. He scored a hat trick against Triton in the section semifinal.
The Raiders will put their 157 game unbeaten streak on the line against Manchester-Essex (17-1-2) in the section final on Saturday, Nov. 14 at 11 a.m. at North Andover High School.
