A Watertown man faces charges of a fifth OUI offense after allegedly getting into an accident on Halloween.
On Oct. 31 at 11:28 p.m., police responded to Palfrey Street after an accident was reported. A black Ford pickup truck struck a telephone pole, and then left the scene, said Watertown Police Lt. James O’Connor.
Officers found the vehicle on Everett Avenue near Palfrey Street, and it had extensive damage, O’Connor said. The driver was walking around near the vehicle. He was identified as Timothy Daley.
When police spoke to him they detected an odor of alcohol, so field sobriety tests were performed and the man was arrested. When they took him back to the Police Station, officers found the man had four prior OUIs, O’Connor said.
Daley, 46, of Watertown, was arrested for driving under the influence of alcohol, a fifth offense, O’Connor said.
