The man behind Kenmore Square’s Eastern Standard will be opening a new restaurant in Watertown’s Arsenal on the Charles this fall.
The spot in the rear of the building which is home to the Arsenal Center for the Arts will be the new location of Garrett Harker’s new eatery, which will be called Branch Line. It will have an “urban rotisserie with a focused wine and beer program,” BostonInno reported. The restaurant will feature an outdoor seating area.
Watertown native Andrew Holden, Eastern Standard’s general manager, will also be a partner in the new restaurant, according to Larry Beals, an architect working with Arsenal on the Charles-owner athenahealth’s redevelopment of the complex.
Harker who also runs Island Creek Oyster Bar and Row 34 in Boston, was named a 2015 James Beard Award semifinalist for Outstanding Restaurateur.
The restaurant will be part of what the owners of athenahealth’s plans to be a retail corridor within the former U.S. Army facility. Early on, officials said it would be a beer garden, but the concept changed.
Please will there be another parking garage??
I’m a BSC member and if I get the luxury of working out late morning on a weekday off I risk getting double parked in by the parking garage valet parking, thus making a frustrating wait while finding the attendee and waiting for them to have time to fish me out.
My sister sent me the link for the restaurant and I’m very excited – this is becoming s very fun area – but I anticipate worsening of an already cluster of a parking plan.
Yes, they are planning to build a second parking garage for the Arsenal on the Charles complex.
