The following information was provided by the Watertown Police Department.
Arrests
April 7, 11:39 a.m.: Police stopped a man on North Beacon Street and found the man had a warrant. The 35-year-old Newton man was arrested on a warrant from Attleboro District Court.
April 7, 6:45 p.m.: An officer driving on North Beacon Street spotted a blue Chevy in the left turn lane go straight from Galen Street onto Mt. Auburn Street. The vehicle was stopped and the officer smelled an odor of alcohol on the breath of the driver. Field sobriety tests were given and the 40-year-old Watertown man was arrested on charges of driving under the influence of alcohol, a turn violation and marked lanes violation.
April 8, 12:17 p.m.: A Ford Explorer was involved in a hit and run accident on Galen Street. The driver of the other car followed the car onto Pleasant Street and police stopped the vehicle. The officer detected an odor of alcohol on the driver’s breath and performed field sobriety tests. The 50-year-old Waltham man was arrested for driving under the influence of alcohol and leaving the scene of an accident.
April 8, 8:12 p.m.: Waltham Police informed Watertown Police that a suspect in an incident in Waltham was likely in Watertown. Police tracked his car to Copeland Street, and found the man on Grandview Avenue. Waltham Police arrested the 30-year-old Watertown man.
April 9, 1:42 a.m.: A Woodview Way resident called police when she found a man breaking into her apartment. The man had gotten into the apartment through an unlocked door on the balcony and said he wanted some food and water. Officers arrived and arrested the man, who also had warrants. The 22-year-old Waltham man was arrested on charges of breaking and entering during the nighttime and two warrants from Waltham District Court for drug offenses.
April 12, 12:04 p.m.: Police were called to Elm Street for a disturbance, and one of the people said the other had a knife. Police arrested a 56-year-old Watertown man on a charge of assault with a dangerous weapon.
April 12, 9:52 p.m.: Two people got into an argument on Salisbury Road and when police responded they found that one had a warrant. The 42-year-old Watertown woman was arrested on a warrant from Brighton District Court for uttering a false prescription.
Incidents
April 6, 4:13 p.m.: A snow blower was taken from A&A Auto on Elm Street. The owner found security video showing a black pickup pulling up to the auto shop at 1:22 a.m. and a white male went inside and took the snowblower.
April 7, 9:01 a.m.: An air compressor was taken from a shed in the backyard of a home on Fifield Street.
April 8, 9:52 a.m.: A man parked his truck near the contractors entrance at Home Depot and when he came back out he found someone had taken two nail guns and a jigsaw from the rear of the truck.
April 8, 4:07 p.m.: A blue Haro mountain bike with black wheels was stolen from a shed.
April 9, 11:52 a.m.: A man who parked on Nichols Avenue found his front windshield smashed and the front headlight smashed.
April 10, 1:41 p.m.: The back window of a vehicle parked on Arsenal Street was broken by what appears to be a pellet.
April 10, 2:53 p.m.: Security stopped a man who went into the Stop & Shop on Watertown Street, filled a cart with items and ran out of the store without paying.
April 11, 2:01 p.m.: The owner of a vehicle parked on Berkeley Street the front left tire was flattened.
April 11, 3:42 p.m.: A man was spotted trying to steal three laptop computers from Best Buy. He fled the store, but did not have the laptops, and got into an older model Nissan Maxima.
April 11, 4:14 p.m.: A woman went to her shed to get her bike and found that it was gone. The bike was a pink, women’s Diamondback bike.
April 11, 9:50 p.m.: A resident had parked on Churchill Street for some time and noticed that someone had been keying his car.
