About 20 lucky Mix 104.1 listeners got the chance to dine with DJs Fast Freddy and Gregg Daniels at Not Your Average Joe’s in Watertown.
Tuesday’s meal was part of the “Meet Me for Lunch” series put on by Mix 104.1. Along with Gregg and Freddy, the lucky listeners also got to meet co-host of their afternoon show, Amanda Giles.
“We like get together with listeners in small groups,” Freddy said.
Gregg added, “We do a lot of big events, it is nice to see people up close and hang out.
Chef Tim Henning and his staff made a variety of dishes for the event.
Gregg enjoyed his ahi tuna salad.
“It was amazing,” he said. “I think I’m coming back tomorrow for more.”
During lunch, guests got a preview of some new items that will be featured on the NYAJ’s spring menu, coming out on April 22, said Rob Gotti, chief marketing officer for Joe’s. Some of the new menu items include a chipotle pork tenderloin and the Rhode Island fried calamari with cherry peppers, Gotti said.
Not Your Average Joe’s hosts a variety of events, said General Manager Ralph Vitiello, including fund raisers for local organizations every Tuesday night, and a special one this fall.
“We hosted a fundraiser for the New England Center for Homeless Veterans in October,” Vitiello said. “Livingston Taylor was here and played for us.”
The efforts are encouraged by Not Your Average Joe’s owner Steve Silverstein, Vitiello said.
