A Funeral mass will be celebrated in the Church of St. Luke, Belmont on Friday July 25 at 9 a.m. for Dorothy J. Bruno.
Miss Bruno passed away on Sunday July 20, 2014 in the Epoch Senior Living Center in Weston at the age of 90. Born in Chicago and educated in Chicago, she lived in Brookline before moving here to Watertown where she made her home. She was the director of the Harvard University Credit Union and later a Research Technician at the Harvard school of Public Health.
Dorothy loved to travel, she enjoyed local politics in Brookline and later in Watertown. She loved going to Mass at St. Luke’s Church in Belmont and her two cats Gina and Lilly. Most of all, Dorothy would always help others in need.
She was the beloved daughter of the late Leonard & Effie (Anderson) Bruno. Dear sister of the late Richard & his surviving wife Drotha and the late Robert Bruno. Loving aunt of Douglas Bruno & his wife Patty, Dennis Bruno & his wife Polly, Dean Bruno & his wife Tina, Dorothy Kerwin & her husband Peter, Denise Fletcher & her husband Mark, Daniel Bruno & his wife Carol, Donna Bruno, Kyle Bruno & his wife Cindy, Mary Mlott & her husband Matt, Janice Griffin & her husband Tim and the late Drotha Bruno. Dear friend of Sima Atefee & her fiancé Jim Fife of Watertown.
Funeral from the MacDonald, Rockwell & MacDonald Funeral Home at 270 Main St., on Rte. 20, Watertown, on Friday at 8 a.m. followed by a Funeral Mass at 9 a.m. in St. Luke’s Church, 132 Lexington St., Belmont.
Interment at Ridgelawn Cemetery, Watertown.
Visiting hours Thursday 4-7 p.m. Relatives and friends are kindly invited.
