The Watertown Mews apartment complex have risen quickly on Pleasant Street, and residents have started to move into the complex across from Russo’s market.
Even while construction continues on the second building, the first building already has its first residents, said Trenda Wallace, property manager at Watertown Mews.
The complex was built next to the Repton Place condominium complex, but units at Watertown Mews will be rented. Originally the land was to be used for an addition to the Repton Place complex, but it was sold. The two complexes share an entrance.
When finished, the complex will have 206 units, with a mix of studios, one bedroom, two bedroom and three bedroom apartments. Rates run from $1,795 for a studio to $3,300 for a three-bedroom unit. There are 42 different floor plans, including options such as two bathrooms in a one-bedroom unit.
The complex will rent 32 of the 206 units at an affordable rate, and a lottery will be held to select qualified renters. (Click here to find out more about the affordable units).
Watertown Mews residents will have kitchens with stainless steel appliances, gas stoves and a kitchen island which can be used to prepare and eat meals.
Pets are welcome, including dogs of all sizes.
“We have a dog spa in the garage where you can bathe your dog,” Wallace said.
The developers of the complex, Mill Creek, built several features for residents. A gymnasium features workout machines and a room for yoga, Pilates and other classes.
“We will have classes in there. We are looking to bring in local instructors,” Wallace said. “We have TVs in the studio so you can have classes with Apple TV when no one is teaching classes.”
Outside, Watertown Mews will also have a pool filled with salt water, three barbecues and two bocce courts, Wallace said. A multi-media room features a large bank of nine televisions that can be used as one large screen, or split into nine individual sets so multiple games or other programs can be on at once.
There is a business center with three computers and free WiFi. In a game room and lounge, residents can play pool and other games, and grab some bottled water, healthy snacks and Starbucks Coffee.
